FREE EVENT – WATER FOR LIFE
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 13, 2014 6:30PM
The Oshawa Environmental Advisory Committee (O.E.A.C.), in partnership with the Region of Durham and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (U.O.I.T.), invites you to explore how we shape water, and how water shapes us.
Residents can join international, award-winning environmental journalist Stephen Leahy for a discussion on his new book, Your Water Footprint. Additionally, the evening will feature brief presentations, displays, and a screening of Edward Burtynsky’s award-winning film, WATERMARK.
“Oshawa is a waterfront community, and access to abundant and clean water is an issue that is relevant to each and every household,” said Kristy Kilbourne, O.E.A.C. Chair. “Many of us aren’t aware of how much our everyday actions are impacted by water, and alternately how our actions impact our water resources. Through this event, we hope to bring the community together to learn, build capacity, and generate awareness about our local water resources and the need for conserving and protecting them.”
