Maggie Prescott the Editor-In-Chief of the New York based fashion magazine “Quality” has allowed Dick Avery the head photographer to choose the next new model and inspiration for a line of clothing named “Quality Women”. During an impromptu fashion shoot at a bookstore in Greenwich Village, Jo the store clerk, who was not in favour of the shoot and adhours the fashion world is chosen to be the new inspiration and model, even with no experience. Jo hates everything the fashion world represents but agrees once she learns the job will take her to Paris where she hopes to meet her idol Professor Émile Flostre the leading philosopher on the concept of empathicalism.  Once in Paris she finds she is falling for Dick who’s actions are primarily to get her to sow the emotions he wants to capture in his photos.
